Development Engineer – Engine & Transmission
The team is responsible for developing auxiliaries, engine installation (e.g., air and coolant pipes), and crank system components (e.g., crankshaft and torsion dampers).
As a development engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing future components. You will lead collaboration within Traton and with suppliers to create state-of-the-art solutions for future applications. The work follows a structured process with clear milestones.
Examples of tasks:
Drive the design and take ownership of the development of installation parts (air and coolant pipes and hoses) and components of the Crank system (casted/forged/machined parts) to meet system and customer requirements.
Responsible for component integration, setting requirements, and assuring the quality of complete product development.
Create CAD models and drawings of components for supplier review and procurement.
Develop, plan, analyze, and document component validation and testing in rigs, engines, and vehicles.
Plan your activities to fulfill project deliveries. Coordinate activities within Traton and with the supplier.
Ensure product capability meets or exceeds expectations and take mitigating actions when project risks are higher than expected.
Represent the team in different cross-functional work groups and establish relationships with peers within the global organization.
Where will the assignment be performed?
Onsite at STC Södertälje. Hybrid work after alignment.
Education
You have an engineering degree within mechanical engineering or corresponding experience and knowledge about our area of responsibility with a drive to learn.
CATIA or CAD experience.
You have a great technical interest and like the challenge of finding solutions for unique customer requests.
You can gather and analyze important information.
You are open-minded and focused on finding ways to solve technical challenges.
You are a positive person who takes initiative, without prestige, and enjoys working both in a group and independently.
You have good communication skills, as the position requires contact with several different development teams and departments.
Language
You can communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken, and have at least basic Swedish knowledge, both written and spoken.
