Your challenge – and what you can expect

In the role as Linux platform specialist, you will develop and maintain our Linux platform for our inhouse development.

The daily duties include to keep our Debian/Ubuntu based distributions up to date and secured as well as creating customized installation packages.

Today we have basic standard packaging of Linux and have initial automation as much as possible preferable using GitLab CI. The daily duties also include the service desk issues in parallel (troubleshooting, lifecycle administration for the different components connected to the systems).

In parallel you work close to the Linux Application Manager in order to execute application development and maintenance to achieve the business goals.

You will be member of the Business IT Application group (responsible for Applications within Pattern Generator and High Flex divisions) and work close together with Dev.Ops business power users, our developers and the System Owner at Research and Development department and the Mycronic common IT (responsible for infrastructure and servers cross-divisional)

Must have knowledge: in Linux Debian/Ubuntu, SW development principles, git, cybersecurity best-practices.

Preferable also: GitLab, Artifactory, Jira, Confluence, VMWare and nginx.

"Nice to have": Jenkins, Perforce, containers/Docker, Quest/KACE, Kubernetes, Grafana, Ansible.

This consultancy position is located in our headquarters in Täby, right outside Stockholm.

Who you are – and what you will need to succeedWe think that you have a relevant education or equal documented work experience. Furthermore, you have a perennial experience of working within product development and Linux configuration and development, support, troubleshooting, cybersecurity.

You find it natural working together with Research and Development departments and its users to continuously improve the system.

As a person you´re thorough and you have the ability to work both in a group and alone. You feel responsible for your duties and your great interest within IT makes it natural for you always being up to date within your area of expertise.

As we´re a small department working close it’s important that you are prestigeless and find it natural to help your colleagues with surrounding tasks when needed.
